Styrofoam Adhesive: Specialty Glue At Its Best
Posted by Hickory Bennison as Product Reviews
Styrofoam epoxy is a very precise kind of glue that is utilized for many arts and crafts because Styrofoam glue is developed with a precise chemical combination that enables the Styrofoam to bond more completely with whatever it is being attached to. This is why it is so powerful even when being glued to other items like cardboard, timber, or other sheets of Styrofoam.
While at initial look this might seem like a really strange specialty glue, Styrofoam glue is extremely useful for a large range of hobbies and assignments. Certain types of model rockets can require this glue to get all the parts glued together. Nothing stinks more than spending good cash on a rocket engine only to have the rocket fall apart in mid-air. No more launches when the parachute refuses to work.
There are also several school projects that may require a really great Styrofoam epoxy of some kind. From model buildings, bridges, or Civil War ships – sometimes cutting up Styrofoam is the top way to go to get the shape that you need.
If you must make a choice between Elmer’s glue or between an actual Styrofoam adhesive, you’d be an fool not to take the Styrofoam adhesive over the same weak grade school stuff. There’s no argument that for projects such as those mentioned above, the specialty arts and crafts adhesive is undoubtedly the better option out of the two.
There are a couple leading companies who make this epoxy, and UHU is probably the most well known of them all. 3M may be a close second. These two producers are almost certainly the “Coke and Pepsi” of the Styrofoam adhesive market.
So just keep in mind the next time that you have a special assignment that involves adhering Styrofoam that a truly special Styrofoam glue is a tool that will make your assignment a whole heck of a lot simpler.
